Right now, in anticipation of being swamped by assignments due in the next couple of weeks, I’ve decided to start the easiest one first, STATS! Gosh doing this reminds me of how much I’ve missed maths through high school, even though I was never top of the class ( I blame that on being slack) but God has blessed me with the ability to grasp the concepts quickly.
For example back when I was in standard one (year one primary school) in Malaysia, I had a maths test and was preparing for it the night before, and as my loving mother likes to do, she would go through questions with me to help me study. So I came across this question and was doing it rightly according to the teachers at school, but mum said it was wrong and after much argument, gave in to her. Next day when I did the test, similar question came up, answered it the way my mama taught me, and when I got my test back… the mark I got was shocking! 99% can you believe it… so I scoured through the test to see where I lost that one mark… no surprises.. the question my mum said I was wrong and she was right, turns out SHE WAS WRONG AHHAHAHA! Always use this small anecdote against my mum to proof to her mum’s not always right ahahah
Well back to stats, I enjoy stats! Quite fun, even though I’m quite rusty at it, bear in mind in first year uni, I failed 2 inclass stats test, but still manage to get a high distinction at the end of the unit because I decimated the final exam Hahah
So onto the continuation of God analogies that I was hinting about in the previous post, and as some of you might have figured out, I can see God in maths…. thats right
… Actually I’ve only got 2 examples but here goes….
Example one:
This is the most recent one I’ve thought up, kinda interesting, nothing to deep, it’s got to do with this formula
0! = 1
So the story goes like this:
-
In the beginning there was nothing (0)
-
Then God Spoke (!)
-
And he created the world (1)
Haha see told you It wasn’t too deep, anyways you can click here for an explanation of factorials and how zero factorial equal one
Example two:
This is my brainchild that started it all, and I’ve shown Mabel this a year or so ago, although it was quite a rudimentary version but an understanding of differentiation/integration will be required. I’m not the best of teachers, so I guess for those who don’t really know what differentiation or integration is can go over to wikipedia for a brief course (I havn’t gone there to look so don’t go complaining to me if it still leaves you lost as to what the hell this is about)
Okay… I’ve hand written this, and some people think my handwriting is terrible and some think its cool in a weird way but nonetheless, It might be a bit hard to follow (forgive me its 2:35am) and I thought I post this to prevent me from procastinating from urgent assignments later on in the next 2 weeks
Enjoy!
p/s if it really is incomprehensible or too complex to understand, I’ll probably post up a much more refined and clearly defined version in the holidays
